Established in 1957 to promote the use of all classes of power boats, and to provide the boating community of Melbourne with a safe, friendly venue for boat racing, social skiing and tournament skiing, including slalom, tricks, jumping, knee boarding and wake boarding.
M.R.S.B.C. is affiliated with the Australian Power Boat Association (APBA), the Victorian Water Ski Association (VWSA), the Australian Water Ski Association (AWSA) and is an associate member of the Boating Industry of Australia (BIA).

As a result of 'Member Only' access to the weir, the club has an enviable safety record, making it the perfect place for budding young skiers and racing enthusiasts to develop their skills. The club is very proud of its safety record, and is committed to maintaining it by insisting that all members comply with both the State Boating Regulations and Club Rules.
Facilities
Situated on 9 acres of land adjoining Melton Reservoir, the M.R.S.B.C provides a fully equiped boating and skiing facilty to accomodate for all occations from a family day out skiing or having a B.B.Q, to national boat racing events held over an entire weekend throughout the year.
